4th of july holiday

We thought, "hey, last year we were in DC- the most patriotic place to be for the 4th". "This year, let's go to the 2nd most patriotic place- Philadelphia". I don't know what we were thinking, but 'on a whim' is the most exciting sometimes. So, it was a smattering of cheese steaks, church in the inner city, historical, patriotic, hot, hilarious, not-so-hilarious traffic, loving our cooler full of drinks, founding fathers talk, and good times with my main squeeze. It was an adventure for sure.
The place where it all actually went down.
Room where they signed the Declaration of Independence.
After going in traffic circles to get to the Art Museum, we just planted ourselves on the sidewalk with cold bottled sodas and played cards on streets of Philly to wait and watch the fireworks.

So glad the holiday wasn't over after the weekend because we needed to recover from our road trip to Phil. On Monday, we kayaked on the Potomac River by Georgetown with our friends Hannah & Rob. It was relaxing, good company, so fun. It must be summer. Pictures below featuring Josh's farmer tan. Too cute.

Topped the holiday off with a Georgetown Cupcake. 2 thumbs up!!!
